SmartPIE contributes to at EUROMAT 2009
SmartPIE was present at Euromat 2009, a major international conference which was held in Glasgow 7-10 september 2009, with 2 posters and one oral presentation. The contributing delegates, Indu Babu and Daan van den Ende, saw their efforts supported by the Euromat 2009 conference chairman, Sybrand van der Zwaag.
The posters, titled: “PZT-polymer composites: material combinations and design routes for optimal device performance” and “Processing and characterization of 0-3 PZT/LCR/PA composites” were met with considerable interest by many of the delegates during the poster session and new international collaborations may result. The oral presentation titled “Piezoelectric composites of a PZT ceramic and a Liquid Crystalline Thermosetting resin” gave the audience in the “High Temperature and Functional Polymers” symposium some valuable new insights on piezo-composites. This presentation was followed by a fruitful discussion.
